Coupon Clarity: Where Do You Get All Your Coupons?

Having a good supply of  coupons is a must for stockpiling!  But where do you get all the coupons the you need, or better yet, how many coupons do you really need?  Here are some suggestions for figuring that out and how to get them!

1.   Ask Friends, Family, Co-Workers and Neighbors to save their Sunday coupons for you!    I get extra inserts from my sister and my neighbors too.  My grandfather also saves the coupons from the paper for me and (bonus) he lives in an apartment building that has an indoor recycling room, I am allowed to sort through the newspaper bins for extra inserts - as long as I don't make a mess!  Some of the larger Apartment complexes have recycling areas as well that can be a nice resource for extra inserts and doublers.

2.   Hospitals, Restaurants, and Coffee Shops!  If you work, eat out on Sunday, or regularly hit Starbucks, you can usually find copies of the paper that have been set out or that other customers have purchased and left behind.  One of our readers from The Coupon Posse' traveled quite a bit and told me that she had great luck finding coupon inserts at the Airports!  If there is a Restaurant or Coffee Shop you visit often, go ahead and ask them if they will save the Sunday papers for you too (never hurts to ask :)

3.  Buy multiple newspapers. The Spokeman Review offers a Couponers Special!  Sign up for a minimum of 3 copies a week of the Sunday paper and they will reduce the fee to just $7.00 per subscription!

4.  Purchase coupons on Ebay.  I do this pretty often, especially when I want a large amount of a specific coupon or coupons that we did not receive here in our own paper.  You can also purchase complete inserts.  Personally, I look for sellers who have good Seller ratings (99%+) offer the "buy it now" option (I don't have the time or patience to do the auctions), and have FREE Shipping.   There are also several Clipping Services that you can buy directly from as well.

5. Share and trade coupons! Get together with your coupon buddies to share and trade coupons with each other!  We share and trade the coupons we find in the store and printable coupons with each other all the time.  Example, Joelle doesn't have any Cats so she gives me her Cat product coupons, I don't have any kids in diapers, so I give her my diaper coupons!

6.  Keep your eyes open at the store!  Some of the best coupons we have in our personal stash are from Blinkie machines and tearpads we find when we are shopping.  Just yesterday,  I found a tearpad with coupons for $1.00/2 Planters Nuts.

7.  Home mailer coupons!  Manufacturers will send you some of the best and highest value coupons available!  Many have links on their websites where you can sign up for home mailer coupons, like P&G, SC Johnson and Con Agra, just to name a few.

7. Printable Coupons!  Most coupons can be printed twice per computer, so if you have access to more then one computer, max your opportunity to get in on the sweet printable coupons we tell you about!  If it is a really hot coupon, ask friends and family to print them for you too (again, never hurts to ask :)

Everyday, I look for new coupons on:
Coupons.com
Redplum.com
FreeCouponAlerts.com
SmartSource.com
WomanFreebies.com

Granted, we know that most people don't have the time to troll for the coupons that we do, but don't worry, we tell you about the best ones!

Another place to get more coupons?  Enter Coupon Giveaways!  We do them pretty often ourselves :)(btw, have you entered the Ultimate Coupon Binder Giveaway yet?)

Now that you have some ideas on where to get more coupons you just need to figure out how many more coupons you really need!  Our rule of thumb is one coupon per family member.  Each of us have 5 in our immediate household, so we like to have 5 of each coupon in our binders with us!  Of course, this will vary from time to time, but it's the standard we work from and it works quite well for us :)

Do you have suggestions on how to get multiple coupons? We'd love to hear your ideas!
